This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the sheriff's warrant unit or the issuing court directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Use the office tied to the case or record rather than assuming one countywide list covers every La Plata County warrant:
- County or district case: contact the La Plata County Combined Courts clerk at 1060 East Second Avenue, Suite 106, Durango, Colorado 81301, during the published clerk hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Municipal missed appearance: ask the Durango, Bayfield, or Ignacio Municipal Court that placed the setting, because city cases do not become county-court cases merely because police may serve a warrant
- Criminal-justice records: use the La Plata County CCJRA request form or call the Sheriff's Office records contact at 970-382-7017; that number is a records line, not a warrant-confirmation hotline
- Resolution or surrender: speak with a licensed Colorado attorney and the issuing court about appearance, recall, bond, and current custody instructions before arriving
The La Plata County Sheriff's Office is at 283 Girard Street, Durango, CO 81303, and the county public-records policy lists 970-247-1157. The detention facility is at 742 Turner Drive. Confirm current surrender or custody instructions before visiting either location.
